Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · The Senior Girls of the 2016/2017 Soccer Season


As the season comes to an end it is important to celebrate the players and all they have accomplished this year. It is especially important to celebrate the seniors as they end their final season of high school soccer.

Here are our seniors:

082Celina Lopez, #7 is one of our fearless midfielders. She enjoys Chinese food, Bruno Mars and The movie “The Giver”. At Coronado her favorite subject is Economics and her favorite teachers are Coach Holmes, Ms. Paez and Mr. Chrisman. She plans to go to Scottsdale Community College for two years prior to transferring to Arizona State University where she plans on obtaining a career in International Business. As Lopez looks back on her years at Coronado on the soccer team, her favorite memory was making playoffs in her Junior Year.


124Daniela Beltran, #2 is a right forward and mid-fielder. Beltran’s favorite memory from playing high school soccer was during her Junior year when Coach T tried to speak Spanish during practice. Beltran enjoys Lasagna, J-Cole  and t he movie Goal! The Dream Begins. Her favorite subject in school is Art taught by her favorite teacher Mr. Bilger. After high school Beltran plans to study Art at Scottsdale Community College and become a graphic designer.


112Jemma Soto, #4 is our left wing Midfielder. Her favorite memory from the Coronado soccer season was the fact that whether the team was winning or losing, they never gave up and became a family both on and off the field. Soto’s loves Buffalo Wings, the movie Blended and Rhiana. Her favorite subject in school is Math, but her favorite teacher is Ms. Paez. After high school Soto plans on going to Scottsdale Community college to take her Pre-requisite classes for becoming a Dental Assistant.


260Valeria Corona is the fearless leader and captain of the Varsity Lady Dons soccer team. She is #23 and plays Center Midfield. Corona loves Mexican Food, the movie Step Brothers and Ariana Grande. In school, her favorite subject is Math and her favorite teacher is Coach Holmes. Corona’s favorite memory from this soccer season was beating Saguaro. After high school, Corona plans on attending Gateway Community College and continuing her soccer career.


091Ailyn Barrera, #13 is a center midfielder. She loves Chinese and Mexican Food, the movie The Notebook and the band The Weekend. Her favorite teachers are Ms. Paez and Coach Holmes but her favorite subject is Chemistry. Her favorite memory is making state playoffs during the 2015/2016 soccer season. After high school Ailyn plans on attending Paradise Valley Community College to finish her Pre-requisite classes as she continues to explore the major she wants to focus on.


102Bella Aguirre, #17 plays both forward and wing. Her favorite memory from Coronado soccer was walking out with her team at home games so that all eyes were on them. Aguirre loves California burritos, the movie Friday and the band 21 Savage. In school her favorite subject is science, but her favorite teachers are Mr. Schumaker and Mr. Bundy. After high school Aguirre plans on attending Arizona State University to major in Aerospace Engineering and the Fulton School of Engineering and minoring in computer science. After college Aguirre plans on obtaining her PhD and working for NASA.


120Cristal Garcia, #9 is a midfielder. Her favorite memory from playing soccer was making playoffs in her Junior year. Garcia loves Mexican food, the movie A Walk to Remember and Bruno Marks. Her favorite subject in school is Chemistry and her favorite teachers are Ms. Paez and Coach Holmes. After high school Garcia plans to go to Gateway Community College for 2 years before transferring to Arizona State University to study nursing.


098Monica Figueroa, # 14 is a forward and left midfielder. Figueroa’s favorite memory from her soccer career at Coronado was being able to make friends and learn from her mistakes from her teammates. She loved being able to build and push one another. She loves Mexican Food and the movie Me Before You. Her favorite subjects in school are Math and Science and her favorite teacher is Ms. Helton. After high school Figueroa plans on attending Arizona State University and to one day work in the medical field as a nurse practitioner. She hopes to continue her soccer career into college as well as modeling.
